Ghana, between 2007 and 2009, lost approximately €36 million, in mining revenues that have been repatriated without the necessary taxes to government, a new report on mining has said.. This loss became possible as a result of alleged transfer mispricing and fixed low local revenues in Ghana, which the report also says had affected the fixing of royalties to the country by mining firms.

June 2, 2010 -- Ghana’s mining and mineral industry injected a total of S$2.9 billion into the economy in 2009, representing an increase of 27 percent from the 2008 figure of US$2.3billion. Latest figures released from the Ghana Chamber of Mines revealed that gold revenue was up by 28 percent from US$2.2 billion in 2008 to US$ 2.9 billion in 2009.
